I was prone to migraines until I got pregnant with my first son. Since that pregnancy in 2003, I didn't get another migraine until I became pregnant with baby three. I have had severe migraines with this pegnancy and they've prescribed me Tylenol-3(Tylenol with codine) and an anti-nausea medicine called fenergine or something like that. The doctors also think that I am more prone to have a migraine when slightly dehydrated. If you feel a headache coming on, drink two glasses of gatorade or water and that might help head off the headache. I get migraines at least once a week and while the Tylenol doesn't take all the pain away it at least takes the edge off.
If all else fails, call your doctor or better yet-go to the ER where they can give you meds and make sure you're feeling better before you go home.

Yes they are! I am 13-14 weeks D.6-17-07 and I have had these intense headaches the past few days. This is my third child and with both of my other pregnancies I had them. If I remember correctly it stopped in the 5 month. Yeah they come in waves and it is horrible! Hopefully for you, you don't have them long! If you can just turn off the lights no sounds and close your eyes and sleep or relax for 15 mins. I usually rub my temples or the corner of my eyes at the top of my nose. Tylenol is good if you must but I find after taking so many Tylenol, it doesn't work as well. Hope this helps!

I got headaches like that all through my last pregnancy. My Dr. said I could take Tylenol. But these were full blown migraines and Tylenol wouldn't touch it most times. I would lay in my room, ice pack on my neck and head with all the lights out, in complete silence. Congrats on the pregnancy. Oh these headaches did lighten up a bit more into my pregnancy. I hope you find something that works for you.

Headaches, believe it or not, during pregnancy are caused by hormone surges. I had never had a migraine before pregnancy and now I get them all the time. My midwife said it was normal although extremely unpleasant.

I had the most horrible headaches during pregnancy. My doc told me to take Tylenol along with a coke. It had something to do with the caffeine I think. Whatever it was, it worked! It is something worth trying!

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

yes, i just had a baby in august, and i had bad headaches a lot. Tylenol is what they reccomend, but it did not work for me. My obgyn gave me scripts for tylenol w/ codenine, darvocet, vicodin. The only one i could take was the darvocet. They said narcotics are better for you to take than asprin. But you are still early in your pregnancy, so i don't know if you can take narcs yet. You should call your doctor. Good luck and congrats
