It's not like we're poor, but we do live in a one-story house with a tiny TV and a small kitchen. The computer goes in the guest bedroom, all that. Anyway, I used to not think much about it, but at our church, almost all the people are extremely well off, while we aren't. They have iPods, cell phones, DVD players in cars, satellite radios, enormous vans, stuff I could only dream of having. So, I really want a Sidekick 2, not a Sidekick 3 (too much money), not to mention I bought my gamecube as well as my digital camera and a lot of stuff on my own! My parents keep on saying it's too much money per month! (Only $20!) and I asked if I could start working at Krogers (I'm 15, COME ON NOW!!!) and they said they'd have to talk it over. I get so pissed. I feel like I'm behind everyone else. All I want for Christmas is a Sidekick, 4 CDs, a DVD Drive, a Mic, and 7th Heaven on DVD. That's what I want. Is that really too much to ask? SIGH! I even asked if I could buy myself a laptop and they start going on this, "Well, even if you have the money, I WANT YOU TO FREAKIN GET A JOB FIRST BEFORE YOU GET A LAPTOP! ....and I have the money that I've been saving for years! I'm so mad right now! I insisted on starting Driver's Ed so I FOUND THE FORM ON THE INTERNET, filled it out, and I sent it off! WHAT THE HECK? It's been like 5 months and they haven't bothered teaching me! I'm an ethical person and they'll almost never by electronics because they keep coming down in price! IF YOU FREAKIN KEEP WAITING, THE GOOD STUFF WILL COME DOWN IN PRICE, THE STUFF YOU WANTED YOU WON'T WANT ANYMORE, AND YOU'LL WAIT FOR THE EXPENSIVE STUFF THEN TO COME DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg - I'm so ticked! How can I persuade them to get me a SIDEKICK? I've never even had a cell phone and this is less per month!

its sounds to me like your basing Christmas on the things you get. for one, be happy you have a happy healthy family and stop being selfish. if you want a job, go there yourself and get one. all you need is a work permit from your school, not your parents permission. your parents don't HAVE to bother to let you drive. its a privilege and maybe your not ready for that responsibility if your so materialistic. grow up, stuff is not life. what about all the kids that AREN'T well off and DON'T get sidekicks for Christmas? don't be so selfish.

Dude, I feel the same way. I still can't get a job up to this point because of "my parents". Just tell them that the Sidekick would be used for your own personal needs and that it can be useful for emergencies.

Get it on your own, and stop worrying about what everyone else has. If you're in church, you know that Envy is one of the Seven Deadly Sins. Calm it down, buddy. You get what you need, and be thankful that you have what you have.

BE PATIENT!! YOU ARE 15. YOU WILL BE GROWN SOON ENOUGH AND WILL BE ABLE TO GET THE THINGS YOU WANT FOR YOURSELF! PERHAPS YOUR PARENTS ARE DOING THE BEST THEY CAN! MATERIAL THINGS DO NOT EQUATE TO HAPPINESS!! COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!
