that is perfectly normal, and actually a good thing. my daughter had them all the time, and the nurses told me it means they are growing. you can give her a little water after the bottle, but it won't take them away.

all babys have hiccups, mine had then alot in the womb too!! poor thing had them out of the womb all the time. Hiccups may not be a major health calamity, but they sure can be
annoying. At certain times, and for a variety of reasons, the
diaphragm muscle separating the chest cavity from the abdomen goes into a bit of a spasm, and the vocal cords snap shut, making that ''hic!'' sound. Hiccups may be triggered by indigestion, eating or drinking too fast, laughing on an empty stomach and fatigue. in babies, their diaphram isnt matured enough so they are prone to them more then adults. Some babies are prone to swallow a lot of air when they nurse or drink formula, too much swallowed air distends the stomach, which can lead to hiccups. Some gentle pats may help bring up the air and stop the hiccups.'
Go ahead and feed. Don't delay feeding your baby just because he has hiccups. Hiccups won't interfere with your baby's eating. And eating just might make the hiccups go away Pat baby on the back. If your baby has the hiccups, hold her upright against your shoulder and pat her back gently. good luck they may look like they hurt but they dont hurt the baby. give it time they will go away in time.

No, formula/breastmilk is all you should give her. My oldest had a lot of hiccups when he was an infant. All hiccups are are muscle spasms of the diaphragm so there's nothing that you can do, nor is this a concern for you. If you're really concerned; talk to your pediatrician about her hiccups.

Lots of babies get hiccups constantly. My son is a month old and ALWAYS has the hiccups.Hiccups are the caused by a sudden tightening of the diaphragm. Try just feeding her sometimes that helps other wise they'll just go away on their own.

No, no water. Water can cause water intoxication in a baby so young. You may offer breastmilk or formula as swallowing will often cure the hiccups.
But unless it is bothering her why is it bothering you? Babies hiccup all the time in the womb, did you think she'd stop just because she was born?

My son got hiccups a lot and I just patted him on the back until they went away. His doctor said to NEVER give water under 6 months. If they get sick they can only have Pedialyte because the electrolytes aid in brain development.

The baby's diaphram is forming.
Let this process take its course, do not try to stop the hiccups.
Babies should not be drinking water at this age, you can do damage trying to stop a completely normal and healthy process like the hiccups.

Hiccups are some spasm in a muscle. I think this is really common for babies. I always got the hiccups right after eating and if I got cold. (no one knows why, but i did!) They are not hurting her, just a spasm. She will be fine!

I'm not sure why, but newborns will have hiccups alot of the time at the same time of day they did in the womb. It should be fine. I wouldn't bother with the water.

It is something that happens, they can have hiccups before even being born, if you are very concerned, call your pediatrician. Babies should only have breast milk or formula for the first four months, don't give the baby water.
