I'm looking for angry, hard, or loud music with female singers. Alternative rock or punk especially. No pop or mainstream music please (that means no Avril Lavigne!).

I'll download some songs from each suggestion and it's 10 points to the one that strikes a chord with me!

Alright , everything mentioned is pretty mainstream so far. I will suggest Pj Harvey and Bjork singing Satisfaction, it's the Rollings Stones cover, they do a damn good job of it. Or you can just pick up some Pj harvey songs such as Who the F*ck and Pocket Knife, but you can check some of her other songs for yourself and decide. I also recommend Peaches. Both the fruit and the singer. Enjoy. :)

properly, some people basically have not got an open suggestions whilst it incorporates diverse genres, and presume that each and each metallic band includes screeching and roaring.. and others basically do no longer like it because of the fact that's no longer their style of music. i began out to love metallic at 13, and others theory it replaced into terrible and "too loud". It relies upon quite..

The Poison Girls. 70s/80s punk with female singer/guitarist. One of my many favorite bands but I'm not sure how easy it is to download their songs.

Evanescence

Hole

Alanis Morissette

Kelis "I Hate You So Much Right Now"
(she's considered hip-hop/R&B, but it's a good song to vent to.)

When I'm angry or upset I like to listen to Alice In Chains; although they aren't females, their lyrics and harmonies really provide me a great catharsis.

The greatest (sadly now defunct) angry girls were Sleater-Kinney.

But there are so many more! (I love angry girls so much I've been married to one for years!, LOL!)

Others to check out:

the wonderful Japanese "noise-core" band, Melt Banana!

And of course, for an angry girl & her guitar, no-one outdoes the wonderful Ani DiFranco, who in addition to being a great angry performer & apparently a thoroughly decent human being, has the best girl hair on the whole planet!....:
