The Celestine profecy that I read was written by Lair Ribeiro and I think Paulo Coelho has little or nothing to depictes about higher purpose, his books are very silly, sorry, my opinion.
In fact, I always felt I didn't belong to this world either, so much that I sought the Truth everywhere, any religion or so that would have a message to tell me , from Christyanity to Buddha and i found what I was looking for by read "perfect Quenstions, Perfect Answers" by Srila Prabhupada. It is amazing book, of questions and answers and the Srimad Bhagavad Gita As It Is is our Bible. I read it 14 years ago , since them i read it frequently and so many others books by this outhor and by my guru as well and my param gurus, etc.
They give as the message that we are not the phisical body, but a spiritual soul and we indeed don't belong to this world, but we belong to the spiritual world, etc.

The term you are looking for is Self Fulfilling Prophesy -- The New Testament was finalized by Roman Church comitees in the fourth century -- when the church was already part of the Roman government. Thus, these Roman officials made the claim that the only reason Jesus was convicted and executed by a Roman government court was through some shadowy Jewish conspiracy, these Roman officials then made the claim that "the Jews" took collective responsibility for it (how does a random mob two thousand years ago blame a person today for something anyhow???) and finaly -- the followers of this church made damned sure to persecute the Jews over these accusations over the past 1700 years -- every hundred years or so expanding the lies about the shadowy conspiracy in order to keep the haters motivated. Coincidence -- not at all. The purposeful workings of pure human evil -- most certainly.

If you can see 'auras' then that does not mean you are not of this world.
Is ice less than water, is water less than vapour?
A higher purpose is having the same perspective 1000 ft. in the air. If you cannot see the higher purpose in the lower purpose, and vice versa, then you cannot achieve your goal.
If you cannot see a snail encompassing a world, or the world being encompassed by a snail, then you have not found your purpose.
Whom do you carry with you when you ascend? Whom do you carry with you when you fall?

I have read all the prophecy books by James Redfield, and yes I believe we have a higher purpose. We are here to learn, and if others are ready, we will meet them, and we will be able to perhaps help. There are no such things as coincidences, so they will be guided to us, or us to them. I wish you well in your quest.
