I got my period yesterday and didn't have any cramps at all. Today, my cramps have been horrible! It feels like someone keeps punching me in the stomach! Anyway, I took 2 motrins this morning but they haven't helped at all and I don't want to take any more incase of overdosing. What foods should I eat to make it feel better? My friend said to eat healthy and stay away from fatty foods and dairy products but so far, I'm confused on what will help and what won't! Please help me! My cramps hurt really bad!

heating pad, hot shower, or just simply laying on your stomach

your first mistake was using motrin. you need midol complete strength. take 2 and they'll be gone. but for motrin i think it would be 2 pills for every 8-12 hours. it'll say on the bottle how much you can take within a certain amount of time. your friend is right, stay away from fatty foods and dairy. eat a lot of fruits! hope this helps! :D

I tried to get a hysterectomy my cramps were so horrible.
The secret is to take two motrin or Alieve AS SOON AS YOU START to get your period. That way the medicine gets into your system before the prostaglandins are released completely into your bloodstream. It is the prostaglandins that cause the cramps. Once the period is in full bloom it is too late and the pain killers won't help. Take them immediately as soon as you know you are just starting your period and you won't have any pain. Try it , it works.

First thing you need to do is have some maximum strength alieve. When you go to the store get some tea so you can make some hot tea. Have a heating pad and make sure you drink a lot of water. Make sure you have a lot of rest because some people when they have cramps they are really fatigue.

Try a heating pad. I get horrible cramps as well. If that doesn't work...try seeing your doctor to be put on birth control. It helped me SO much!

I answered this question last week. You're cramping bad because you're dehydrated. Your body is working twice as hard to expel your flow because it's probably too thick. Drink more water when you're not on your period.

Take an aspirin, which thins the blood and helps it to move more easily through your system, and drink something with caffeine because that's another vasodilator. You can also lay a warm towel or hot water bottle across your abdomen.

Go to a Health Store and buy the Himalaya Brand "MENSTRICARE" It will help you believe me. I have suffered all my life with cramps and this helped me, also with the swing moods.

Good Luck!
