The King Tut exhibit at the Field Museum (buy tickets online ahead of time, trust me on this), the "Bean" sculpture, John Hancock (the restaurant up at the top is awesome), maybe just walk down State Street or Michigan Avenue and do some shopping and get some pizza---I suggest you go to the Chicago Pizza & Oven grinder Co on Clark St ("Clark Bar" is across the street) and also to either Pizzaria Uno or Pizzaria Due's (right off Michigan Ave, can't remember the street--Ohio?)
And finally, don't forget the Shedd Aquarium--and Lincoln Park Zoo is really cool in the wintertime as well.
If you want to do some outlet shopping and have access to a car, you can rock on north on i-294 to Gurnee Mills (IL) or over the border to the Outlet shops in Kenosha WI.

and finally I leave you with this thought: MERRY CHRISTMAS AND GO BEARS!

My husband and I had a weekend in Chicago in May. We got the "City Pass" which gave us discount admissions to the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, the Adler Planetarium, the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Hancock Observatory. For under $50, you get your admission to all these facilities and have 9 days to use it. It's a great deal! Check it out at www.citypass.com.

I was born and raised in Chicago, so I think you should definitely visit all of the museums. Hard Rock Cafe is always nice. Oh, do the Sears Tower thing, too.

They have probably the only remaining German U-Boat at the Science and Natural History Museum. I missed it last time I was there.

The Art Gallery is outstanding.

I enjoyed the River Tour, but its probably closed for the winter.
