My Grandma told me it will ruin (Blow out) the TV? is this true?

Ya it was the straps that are defective. People let go and the straps came undone and the controller went through the TV they are recalling the wiis back.

No, it will not actually blow out your TV.
The cause for people damaging their televisions and sometimes harming friends are the wrist straps on the Wii remote. The cord connecting the controller to the wrist strap can break under excessive force.
Nintendo is issuing a recall on the straps.

No, its just that if you let go of the wii mote it could hit the tv and break it. It's been happening alot lately, I think something is defective with nintendo's staps for it. That's all.

well i suppose if u let go of the remote and it hit ur tv....
they are giving out different straps for the earlier remotes.. if you send in a request for a new strap..via nintendo.com
