No, I do not think the sky is like a separation between us and whatever fictional diety you might imagine.
The (day) sky is the result of the preferential blue light scattering of a nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere. It looks a lot like a very deep bowl, at least in part because the atmosphere itself appears quite deep to us.
The atmosphere is one of the critical, non-negotiable requirements for life as we know it. The other two are water and sunlight.

Uh, no, I think it is a separation between us and the cold, black darkness of outer space. The blood boiling vacuum, the searing radiation of the sun, the giant chunks of rock and ice traveling at thousands of feet per second. So, yeah.
So, learn to spell, OK? I mean, this is not text messaging here. You have a full keyboard in front of you. You can even check your spelling! See... it is that little check box icon with the words "Check Spelling" next to it. That is what I think of when I look at the sky, "Check Spelling!"

When I look at the sky I think, 'blue.' I also think of any clouds that are present at the moment, weather it will rain or not, and if the sun is especially bright.

I'm a pilot. So when I look at the sky and clouds, I think of whether a flight would be smooth or not.

I guess you can see it that way too, but I usually just enjoy looking at the sky without thinking much about it ...

I just think of how much space is up there, and how unbelievably huge the universe is. It's unfathomable.

Sin separated us from god...
So believe in god and after you die you won't have to look at it anymore...
You'll be above it
