Stars don't shoot from the sky . It is meteorites which are rock debris from outer space that get ignited by friction with the air in Earth's atmosphere that appear as shooting stars in the night sky.

Meteoroids are tiny bits of dust or rock that enter Earth's atmosphere. When they hit the atmosphere they begain to burn up and leave a trail of light called a meteorite. These meteorites are often called shooting stars, but they have nothing to do with stars.

actually they are not literally stars ...the shooting stars that we see at night are meteors or fragments from asteriods that were separated and when they enter the earth's atmosphere....they burn in the sky and create an effect lke a star that is falling.

Those are not stars, they are meteors, or small rocks that fall to Earth from space and burn up in the atmosphere. As they burn they give off light, so we can see them.
