I am thinking about attending Vanderbilt for economics. I hear its pretty strong. But I am also looking for a school with solid alumni networking and international recognition. Is Vandy the place to be?

Yes -- it is a good school. It is among the top universities in the South -- not quite as good as Duke, but comparable to Emory and Rice.

US News ranks it 18th.

Vanderbilt is a fantastic school and is considered one of the non-Ivy-Leage Ivy's, like Stanford. If you can go there do it.
