Our yard was sprayed about 3 weeks ago by a lawn service for preemergent winter weeks. The same day it was sprayed, an odor could be smelled. We now have this odor in our entire yard and items stored in an outbuilding also smell like it. I can "taste" it and "smell" this odor even when I am not at home. HELP!

Yes, I have called the company and they insist that it should not be able to be smelled three weeks after application. And yes, my husband can smell it too. I don't know if what I smell on my Christmas ornaments in my shed is the same thing; sure hope not. It should be a herbicide - was for winter weeds. The sign they left on the lawn says "pesticide."

Easy! If you don't have any insects then you have a pesticide. If your weeds or even vegetation is turning brown then you have a herbicide.

In time the smell will lessen. Be patient. Rome wasn't built in on day either! LOL

I would be calling the lawn service that did the work. I personally have never had the spray odor last but a a couple days.

Don't put pesticides/herbicides on your yard. I learned that suburban yards are now the biggest cause of polluted groundwater. It is no longer farmers who use way less of this stuff not, it's all of us wanting the perfect lawn. Besides this, your yard does not need this, the neighborhood kids and animals don't need this, and you can save the money. Then you will know that there are no pesticides/herbcides in you yard.

Call the company that sprayed you yard and ask about it.

It could just be an olfactory quirk because you're worrying about it. I've had that happen with scents before, no one else can smell them but they stick with me for a period of time.
Can others smell it too?
