Where Are Dewalt Tools Made

2016-10-04 01:28:37 · answer #4 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

that shows how uneducated you are
everyone knows that Black and Decker makes the Dewalt line ( some of them ) based on the Professional line of Black and Decker tools ( yes there was a line a long time ago ), Since Dewalt came in with a much better reputation of table saws and other tools Black and Decker acquired them to push there professional line of tools, so their pro line disappeared and the Yellow Dewalts came out. It all started with the screw guns, then moved up the line of other tools. Though Black and Decker may own Dewalt, and have their engineers working on the design for the tools, the low end Black and Decker line still exists , they are 2 separate divisions, Though they own Porter Cable, it too is a separate division.

A Chinese company called (no joke) "Chang type tools" Manufacture a fair slice of the current dewalt range including most of their mitre saws. They manufacture a whole lot of stuff for other manufacturers too.

We've been in talks with them for some time regarding them supplying us with chassis' for some saws we manufacture.

I'm sure dewalt use other manufacturers too.

The fact that Black & Decker owns Dewalt should not be taken to mean the tools are identical. Far from it. I've used Dewalt tools for years and they are nearly as good as Milwaukee. B & D's own line suck big time. They're okay if you use them once a month or less. But for constant shop use, Dewalt is one of the leaders of the pack, regardless of who owns them.

Raymond DeWalt, founder of dewalt tools, was looking for a way to get more efficiency from the men working form him when he came up with the idea for the first radial arm saw. Soon after he developed the saw, he left his job as superintendent of a mill and began his own company to build the saws and other power tools.

In 1992, the company introduced its first line of portable power tools. In 1994, the company launched its line of over 30 cordless power tools.

The company has come a long way since the days of Raymond DeWalt. Today the company makes more than 200 different power tools and nearly 1,000 accessories. These tools include saws, drills, hammer drills, power screw drivers, bench grinders, planers, reciprocating saws and many more tools used by woodworkers. The one thing that has not changed since its beginnings is the company’s dedication to gaining labor saving efficiency with each of its dewalt tools.

in 1992 Black and Decker bought the Dewalt line of tools. These tools were designed for professional use on the jobsites. Over the years they have build a great reputation with the Dewalt name and have made its place in the heavy duty tool market.

This has helped Black and Decker stand out as you ask most people who owns Dewalt and they will tell you Dewalt.

dewalt makes the tools; black and decker owns the name.

well i guess im too late cause im just now reading this question. But it is odviously black and decker. They had a bad launch with their cordless power tools. Then when they realized their weakness they fixed it however consumer confidence was sluggish with black and decker so they made the Dewalt line. Then made it public after Dewalts success that they were the makers of dewalt.

Black and Decker but you know that by now.
I had a dewalt cordless 18v 1/2 in hammer and it kept breaking.
everything from windings, switch in trigger to batteries melted inside charger. I took it back for exchange to the Home Depot Untill they stopped carring that drill . They then gave me a milwaukee 18v 1/2 in cordless hammer drill and $50 in exchange since it was cheaper. I been using that drill for 2 years now with no problem. I also have a 3/8 cordless 18v bosh That I got for around a $100 and ti works great with no problems either. When looking for a drill check the amp hrs on the batteries don't buy anything under 2amp hrs or you will only use it for a couple times and have to recharge it.
