I think you are being unfairly hard on the old man:
1- He has millions upon millions of children of all ages to deliver presents to in one day, which in effect gives him an infinitesimal fraction of second to deliver each gift - Now, that's hard work.
2- He takes 300 and some odd number of days per year to supervise the toy production, processing of the wishes coming from all over, keeping an eye on the mischievous elf's, feeding the reindeer, etc.
3- He sits down patiently for untold number of hours per year to take pictures with kids in malls, all over the world.
4- He makes untold number of visits to children's hospitals/orphanages / preschools, and appearances at charitable institutions/organizations / events.
5- He helps Mrs. Clause with all the chores around the house on a daily basis. That's above and beyond his more delicate marital duties. :-)
6- He has appeared in a countless number of movies and Television programs over the years.
and the list goes on and on.
So the answer to your question is a resounding NO - the old man is no lazy sloth. And that so-called beer belly of his - well, that's not a beer belly at all; that's where he hides his fresh change of clothing. ... Think about it: With all that traveling on an open sleigh and climbing in and out of chimneys all night long, Santa always looks immaculately clean, doesn't he?

Dude, if you had to give presents to all the boys and girls of the entire world in ONE night, you would need a year to rest, not to mention he has alot of preparation to do before the big night, sure the elves help but there is a certain strategic element Santa brings to the table.

Ever since I became a parent, production and deliveries from Santa and his elves has had an alarming decrease, and I've had to pick up their slack with my hard-earned money! They should really start carrying their share of the load!
