well I've heard the saying a few times and just wondered how many of you really believe it?

The Chinese have a curious way of garnering information. They will ask a question of someone, then stop talking. It works so well, that when they toured a US nuclear power plant and asked the guide certain questions, then stopped talking, the guide felt obligated to explain more and more of the operation and give more and more information. Try it sometime and you'll find out that indeed, silence is golden.

That's just a saying that's supposed to make you bequite at times. I would definitely disagree with that though. If there was only silence, how would talk and meet friends, how would you hear music, how would you know if someone is trying to tell you something, how would you watch television, how would you sing, how would hear what you sound like, how others sound like, how animals sound like, how would you know if your mom is calling you, or the bell has rung in school, how would you know what the teacher is saying, how would you wake up if you can't hear the alarm, how would you hear someone reading aloud, how would you do anything? That's just my opinion though.

i believe at certain times silence can conquire a situation for one main reason in a relationship that has went sour most people seek revenge of some sort but when you are silent it becomes almost deadly to the other person because only you know your thoughts and feelings and 9xs out of 10 they want to know what your thoughts are lol try it it works especially on those so call enemies when you dont acknowledge them through verbal communication

sometimes it is best to keep ones mouth shut. then when this happens silence may be golden. loose lips sink ships is an old saying and thus many times talking caused ships to be lost unnecessarily

I dont know what it means but spend some time with a deaf family. its an amazing experience and then you may appreciate it the term.
