Who cares? Havent you ever heard of "it's the thought that counts"? Be grateful for what you get no matter how small

A gift is a gift for a reason... No one HAS to get anybody, anything. I have a group of girlfriends, and though we all have money, it gets to be a bit much to be spending that much on each person. We are all in our 20's, but everyone has money being saved for different things.
Do not get mad, thank her for her gift (which, yes, was a gift, and probably took more effort than you going out and spending money on the first thing you saw), and next year, bake her something instead.

First of all, you went into that with the wrong intentions in mind. You should do things out of the kindness of your heart because you want to, not because you expect something in return.
And knowing the estimation of her bank account is really not your business to disclose.
Maybe she needs to rethink you for a friend if all you are concerned about is how much she can afford to spend on things, and your friendship is based upon material wealth and how her money can benefit you.

If you are going to buy a gift for your friend and you're going to spend $20.00 and let's put it in this way. If he/she does not give you a present why would you get mad.
Are you giving a gift expecting to received one, too? Why, don't you put your worries aside and focus in the spirit of giving and not in the position if I receive something.

You shouldn't be mad. Just remember this: When you are giving someone a gift you are receiving. You aren't losing anything, you are receiving the gift.

It sounds like you got her a gift thinking that you would get something in return and not because you wanted to get her a gift. That doesn't sound nice of you.

You should never expect a gift from anyone. The idea is GIVING!!! Be thankful she is your friend and stop being petty.

You don't give because you want to get it back.. You give because you want to see someone smile, you want to make someone happy. Be hppy, the intention counts more than the gift
