Potatoes do have eyes, but not like the eyes that are in the faces of people, fish, reptiles, dogs, cats, mice.

If you look at the skin of a potato you'll notice brown spots with a little bump in the center of them that looks like a small eye. Most folks remove the eyes when they peel the potato for cooking.

I hope this helps. Merry, merry.

Potatoes do indeed have eyes! How do you think they can see where they are going underground?

Seriously, what we call eyes on potatoes are root buds. If you store potatoes for a long time, you will actually see roots growing out of these "eyes". To plant potatoes for a new crop, you quarter a potato, making sure each quarter has at least one "eye". Each will grow into a complete potato plant.

Yeah. They have eyes. They are those little bumps on the potato. They grow into new potato plants. However, they are usually removed. The eyes are poisonous. Tell your boyfriend to tell his brother that his brother is an idiot. Your boyfriend can also tell his brother that if his brother wants to hit anyone, to hit me(I doubt it).

I remember when I was growing up... I was told over and over again that yes.. potatoes have eyes.. but like Santa Claus.. not true.. those things that I was told were eyes were sprouts from which new potatoe plants could /do grow... so disappointing

Yea, potatoes have "eyes". But the eyes are the small white things sticking out of the potato. The "eyes" are roots budding out of it. If you suspend a potato in water, the roots will grow out of the "eyes". And this question belongs in botany, not biology.

Yes they have eyes but as potatoes are underground so they keep them closed so they don't get dirt in them otherwise it is hard to wash their eyes as tehy don't have hands to do this.

LOL but seriously, yes they DO have eyes. The littles dimples all over the potaotes where new shoots grow to become a new potato plant are called "eyes" (not real eyes to see )
