I agree with the first answer, make sure to stick with larger hotel chains. You can search for hotels near an address on Travelocity.com. Just pick "advanced search" and you'll see the option to put in an address and distance from it.

Good luck!

Try www.expedia.com. It is a website that will give a list of hotels and motels in the area you are going to. They include addresses and street maps. Also try Mapquest. If you have the address of the Greyhound terminal where you are going, you can figure out how to get to the closest hotels and motels.

Get an AAA guide for the area ... they give ratings and prices for motels.

However, if you are going somewhere unfamiliar, it is best to stay somewhere affiliated with one of the big chains (Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott etc).

Do you have a celly? How about money for a motel? If no money call info and ask for numbers for women's shelters. Do you plan on living ther or just visiting? Women's shelters can help you get established with a job and help you find a place to live. Good luck.
