Of course, after the holidays is a good time to start. You can learn any time.

How long it takes to learn guitar depends on how good you want to get and how much practice you put in. How good you can get with 1-2 hours a day for a few months depends on what methods you use to practice. There are effective practice methods that will help you make the best use of your time. This course is one of the best. https://bitly.im/aMCmv It's not just about how much you play but how effectively you play that will determine how good you will get.

Why wouldn't you be able to? Here are a couple of tips:

1. Make use of tabs on the internet, they are the fastest way to learn.

2. If you are into rock music, learn what a power chord is and practice it until you get it down. Most rock music is based on power chords (that heavy thick sound).

Since I was in high school I was willing to learn guitar.
Coz of many reasons I could not do it.
When I went to buy a guitar...I was at shop with my daughter ...LOL
Now I can play some tunes on it...:)
So...if one can learn it at 31...how old you are? tell me again !!!
Stop thinking over it again and again. Get the guitar...join some class...& ask me about websites those will be helpful to you.
All the best!!!!!

My Friend, you can learn guitar at any age. Since u want to learn something in your holidays then better learn the MAJOR and MINOR chords. once you are comfortable playing those, then go to "www.8notes.com" and get the other chords there. since u would have become familiar with chords then you would have no problem practicing other chords. trust me, i am doing the same and i am 18 years old. if any doubt persists then mail me at raja28loyola@yahoo.co.in and i will surely try to help you.

yes you can. I started playing at the age of 14 and now I'm 35. It has been so much fun. If you have a burning desire to play the guitar go for it. you wont regret it.

Yes! It's never too late. You can find a reasonable guitar at your local music shop. Ask around for possible teachers in your area and don't wait. You can do it!
