I actually had TWO 360's repaired because they were freezing... and I am now on my third console. Do the red lights come up around the power switch on the console? It means it's over heating. Or, there is an internal component that is damaged. Mine made a funny noise and then the whole screen turned green... Or, it just shut off... Irritating, I know.

Here's what you do: First, make sure the console isn't in a place tat has poor air circulation... and the power cord needs to be plugged into a separate scource... you might try getting rid of your power strip if you're using one... plug the console directly into the wall... you could pick up a base fan for the 360 (25 bucks at the eb games, or somewhere like it.) Or, if your console is still under the microsoft warranty, call the 800 number for a service order. (But, if you're out of your warranty time... you're kind of screwed... so I suggest the following)

Here's what I did: If your console is no longer covered under warranty... and you don't mind doing what I'm about to suggest... this is the easiest way, especially because it's christmas time...
Go to a store, like a walmart, or somewhere like that... buy a brand new xbox360... the same package you got the first time (core\premium) and pay with cash... take it home, open the new xbox360, pull out the console only, and replace your old broken one back into the box the same way... leave all the cables and controller packed... then, the next day... take it back to the store and return it... say either that it didn't work, or someone got you one for christmas, and now you don't need it. Get your money back, and all is well... I Have done this twice, myself... I have never been called by microsoft... or anything like that... not to mention that microsoft will probably send you a refurbished xbox360 console from a service request anyways... they just recycle the serial numbers, so they'll never know... and the people at the store will not care either, because it's not their job... they won't even look at the serial numbers...

Keep your own hard drive, cables, and controller... just swap out the consoles... and return the broken one...

Hey, it's not our fault that microsoft made a system that overheats and breaks... and their service requests can take up to a month... witch means... no box for a month... yuck.

Either way you go... I would suggest picking up one of those base fans... They are incredibally useful! Mine hasn't had a problem since I got a fan for it... basically the extra fan just keeps it cooler...

Well, buddy... those are your options. Email me if you have any other questions... ok? Good luck with it. Merry Christmas.

It it from the pre-recall days? Have you tried contacting Microsoft?

I would say it could either be overheating (from too much play in one sitting and not enough cool air running through) or the fact that Xbox 360 was released before all the kinks were worked out. As with any gaming system, they are never perfect, but everyone I know that has an Xbox 360 has complained at one time or another that there has been something wrong.

Is it freezing everytime you play a particular game or does it happen with every game? You don't include enough specifics to really pinpoint a solution to why it is acting up.

If it's less than a year old, bring it back to Microsoft and have them fix it because a gaming system really shouldn't have that problem in a year.

attempt utilising a handbook for the challenge. you ought to be doing it diverse than what they choose. attempt doing the challenge diverse approaches, do no longer do it the comparable each and every time. I doubt it quite is the XBox, and it won't destroy your XBox the two.

i know what's wrong with it. Xbox is purposely made extra fragile and sensitive so you can buy upgrades and other expensive little gadgets for it in order to keep it running. it's a conspiracy
