No it's not rare to see light skinned and light eyed hispanics, at least as far as Puerto Rican people go. There's more info in this link (scroll down to "Racial Diversity".

Yes, but no more unusual than a mixed race black or, to a lesser degree, white person with light eyes. Light colored eyes are always 'rare' in that they aren't the norm; it's a physical characteristic achieved by the coming together of two recessive genes.

Hispanics are as likely to have those genes as anyone else ESPECIALLY since 'Hispanic' covers an ethnic group and not a race. Hispanics are a people of mixed Spanish (white), Amerindian (widely acknowledged as asian) and often African heritage.

My husband is Chicano; his eyes 'change color' but remain mostly green or blue, his hair is curly and a dark ash blond and his skin is not brown in any way. He's the only one in his immediate (and one of few in his extended) family with that particular pigmentation.

Most hispanics have brown eyes, but some do have blue or green eyes. Being hispanic is an ethnicity, it is not a race. There are some white hispanics and some of them have blue or green eyes.

I must say any Hispanics/Latino people I have ever seen have dark colored eyes but it's cool to be different.

No it's not. In fact, if you watch some of the novellas on the Hispanic channels, a lot of those people look white as in blonde hair and blue eyes.

no not at all uncommon. My dad infact has green eyes and he is 100% mexican. When the Spaniards conquered the Mesoamerican people, their genes mixed in with the natives genes and vuola, green and blue eyed Latinos. It is really common to see blonde blue eyed people in the northern regions of Mexico, Argetina and Venezuela
