You’re going to have to be more specific. If you read much history each era has had their own definition of the world “going crazy.” For example, there have been many different people and groups, at many different times, saying the world is coming to and end, and yet its still here.
There have been many wars and many who have defined some other group as the embodiment of evil, and many who have focused on eliminating of some “other” group. Andy yet, we are still here.

Millions of electric lights when we are fighting and dying for oil to power them?
People fighting for crap their children don't need now, but made from the resources they will need in the future.
