People who take university courses through the Internet do so because they have another a job, because they are too far from the school they are interested in, or because they have kids or people to take care of.

They DO NOT do it because they like surfing the web, asthey are not going to do it more than regular students (except to get their lessons).

I have did the Distance Learning thing with John Hopkins University, and the best I can say for it is that it is OK, but isn't perfect. There's still a lot of kinks, like cut-off audio and really bad drawings (I was taking geometry). I wouldn't recommend it, unless you don't mind and you have a tablet PC.
