I am a parent and also a grandparent. No. I was NEVER sad. I think most parents are happy just to see their children happy and excited. Just a hug and a kiss and maybe a "I love you" would be a great Christmas present. I am not a materalistic person. I love to give. And I hope you have a very happy Christmas.

Some parents are just happy that there kids are happy. That's a major part of being a parent. They basically have to sacrifice everything to make sure that their kids are taken care of. I used to feel the same way that you do, but in actuality Christmas is about giving. Your parents are probably overjoyed that they are able to make you happy! Merry Christmas!

I can't speak for all parents, but the greatest gift my children give me is the look of exitement when they open their gifts, and the simple words "thank you" and the words "I love you" and a great big hug.

Good question...............
But be sure that your parents told you the truth.
I'm a mom.....my "kids" are already bigggggggg, but when they were kids...........we enjoyed seeing them watching and trying to open the gifts.
Their faces were so much expessives and was really a pleasure to watch them.
Parents learn to give...............always, ..and is a very sweet thing for us, to give without wait nothing in change.
Good luck!!!!!!

to tell the truth for some people the older they get the less they care about what they get. however, i think that even a little homemade gift is better than no gift, i also think it is more special to the person its given to.
