I think people could do more for the old and homeless people. I will be on my own and wont even bother making a dinner but at least I have a nice warm home and 2 dogs to keep me company. I feel sorry for homeless sleeping on the streets and the old because they cant look after themselves. And believe it everyone needs some to love and talk to, lonlyness is a big killer.

Take it from this Empty-Nesting single Retiree ... i've got been single for the vast majority of my grownup existence. it is not uncomplicated to certainly locate somebody eager as much as now you (once you have the Careers (i'm additionally Retired protection rigidity), and preparation (i've got have been given UGrad and Grad tiers)) once you're 'distinctive' -- an 'individual' ... useful and self reliant and arranged to furnish to your individual desires. confident, there are circumstances i'm VERY Lonely certainly (and that i can constantly wish that there is somebody accessible for me ...), yet on condition that guy or woman has no longer shown up yet ... properly ... i'm delicate with WHO i'm at this point of my existence ... (for I additionally substitute right into an prolonged term single discern and the only to blame discern for my 2 babies). The PEACE, the QUIET ... the very undeniable fact that i do no longer ought to tolerate poisonous human beings/Behaviors is the BONUS right here -- i could plenty particularly be lonely (at circumstances) than to be depressing each and every of the time (for this reason divorce occurs -- no person ought to be compelled to stay in a Love-much less marriage -- particularly one the place the male is likewise abusive/violent -- a sociopath -- and purely takes, takes, takes).

Isn't this a great country we live in? Repeat after me, me, me. Benjamin Franklin is my idol and I will step on and use everyone I can to collect his image. I cannot see beyond my sixty inch high defination television to see that my workers cannot pay their rent. I cannot hear their empty stomachs rumbling because my surround sound is drowning out their cries for a living wage. For the life of me I cannot understand why these lazy people keep asking for a handout, if they were truly concerned about bettering themselves when they got done working for me they would get another job and go to school to improve their education. What's that you are saying, it would take twenty two hours of each day for them to accomplish that. Not my problem, tell a compassionate conservative. Us liberals hate America and Americans.

What have you personally done? I guess that came off too strong. Congratulations for putting your money where your heart is! I have done food drives before. This year I gave phone cards, and cash to a group collecting for soldiers away from home. The soldiers at the VA hospital said phone cards are probably the most appreciated. Merry Christmas to you and your family! May the New Year bring our soldiers to victory, and back home!

Never enough. The trouble is that only a few do the most. If everyone in the world did 1% more then we would not be facing the issues we are today my friend

It is sad to say, but we never do enough for the elderly, the lonely and the homeless in this country. Our government needs to learn to help their own before they help others!

It's up to us individuals & churches. I've done my share, I believe.
Some people just talk. Cheney gave more money to Katrina Victims than all the Rich Democrats in Congress put together.
Democrats talk.

No we aren't doing enough, period. It's Christmas and all people care about is themselves. They might throw some loose change into a collection box to make themselves feel better - but is that really enough? Hell no.

What do you mean by "this country"? Yahoo Answers are international. I live in Ireland, I bought a lovely present for a small boy from a poor family this year. I feel good about it.
