Hey hello how do they make car body parts like fenders, roof etc etc. I think they use a deep drawing (die presses against sheet lying on an elastic material) /sheet forming machine or press..? but I am not sure. Let me know if anybody has any details.

thx.

After going to the factory to see how cars were put together, you are right. Most parts are drop forged, or put in a press that stamps out the parts. Then robots weld the parts together into the fraim and doors and other parts.
Good guess and you are right.
Hope this answers your question.

It is a complex process, and the newer the car, the more complex the process.

Replacement parts are far easier purchased, and custom body parts bought stock and modified from there.

If you must, making a casting of the body part is possible, but it will be in multiple pieces and have to be welded together on anything made after about 1970. Single-sheet pressed body parts are a thing of the past... way past.
