Ah, makes me remember a conversation I overheard many years ago while standing in line at Christmas. A person walked in the store and recognized the person standing behind me. The usually pleasantries were exchanged followed by one asking the other, "so what are you having for Christmas dinner?" The reply was, "oh just the usual traditional Christmas shrimp dinner." This was Utah. We don't have traditional shrimp anything. I thought this was hilarious!

Before the big feast happens, we'll have a cheese ball with various kinds of crackers, pickles and liverwurst pate on crackers along with a bit of holiday spirits.

I'm doing the traditional turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, mashed yams, peas and carrots, salad, butter crescent rolls and cranberry sauce. We will have a Champagne Toast to Mother as she has just recovered from a stroke and this will be her first visit home (but only for the day) since November 3.

We will also be having fresh fruit salad and mince meat pie with French Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert.

After all of that, we'll open our presents.

I hope you and yours have a bountiful meal surrounded by good friends and family.

Merry, Merry.
