I don't get it...drive straight, turn left, drive straight, turn left. The people that love it...really love it, but I don't get it. I think the numbers are inflatted as a form of marketing and the people in the stands are computer generated images to trick everyone.

I love watching NASCAR and no I don't think it sucks. Some people don't understand it, but as far as what someone said about how someone can be an athelete by driving a car at 200 mph around a track, look at some of those turns they have to make on some of the tracks, especially with how steep they are banked. You have to be pretty strong to hold that car in line without spinning out of control.

Ask a fan or a gearhead this question, and he will look at you like you're stupid. It's a team based sport that combines horsepower, aerodynamics, technology, and endurance. There are training programs for the pit crews plus hours of pit road practice. Drivers now have personal trainers to monitor their training programs and diet which is important with the heat inside of the cockpit of the cars.

If you honestly think that the sport is stupid, I suggest you just once, go to a Busch or Nextel Cup event, and then tell us what you think. It's pretty easy to say something is stupid when you know nothing about it.

For the person that doesn't think that the drivers are athletes, I think you should climb into one of those cars where the temp in the cockpit is 100 degrees plus, and give it a go for 500 miles at 200 mph!

I'm not going to get into whether or not it's a sport, or whether or not it's worth watching, but it's DEFINITELY not easy. There is a difference between driving and racing. Going neck and neck for hundreds of laps at top speed in that cramped, hot vehicle... that takes skill. Not everyone can do that, whether you think it's stupid or not. And NASCAR is one of the highest rated sports in the country (I believe second only to the NFL) so it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

yeah, I dont really see the point of the chanllenge (it must be); but F1 is far more chanllenging, at least it has right and left turns, up-hills and down-hills.

the drivers do have to exercise; Now Golf really completely Sucks big time, they practice but DO NOT exercise, but for some reason I think is the most rich "sport"(if U can call it that- ... Past Time), probably because only lazy rich goes for that kind of past time

well, im not a nascar fan and i do find it verry boring. it ranks up there with speed skating in my books. i think they should put the steering wheels on the other side of the car and make them drive the other way once in a while.

If you don't like don't watch it. I love to watch no one will admit this out loud but we watch for the wrecks man that's the whole point you know besides the whole 200 mph thing come on how can you not watch a bunch of guys doing 200 mph bumper to bumper banging into each other and not wrecking its a thing of beauty.

If you don't understand man and his wondrous machines, then you'll never get it. I don't watch NASCAR but rarely, but I DO appreciate what can be built and it's power.

Racing is not easy and it is quite dangerous.

i would like it if it were on a racetrack with turns and hills and whatnot, but it sucks as it is (just driving in circles).
