what would you do if you were on the Titanic on the night of April 14, 1912? Would you have given up your seat for someone else, jumped off the ship in a suicide attempt, or "paid for a seat" on a lifeboat .....What would you have done?

By the way I'm related to someone who died on the Titanic, my distant relative on my great grandpa's side.

If I were a man on the Titanic, I would try to save a lot of women and children and put them on boats. I would die anyway with HONOR.

If I was a woman on the titanic with no children and was traveling with my fiance/husband, I would just go down with my love.

If I was a child and traveling with my mommy and daddy and we were poor, mommy would just sing me a lullaby in our room and I would just go to sleep and when I woke up I would be in Heaven with my parents.

Titanic(directed by James Cameron) is my favorite movie. This is a great question! And no to be snobby or anything, but it was April 15, around 2am.
These are some interesting links about the incident:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RMS_Titanic (the real titanic)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanic_%281997_film%29 (the movie)

I was surprised at how TRUE the movie was.

I'll be completely honest. I wouldn't have given up my seat for any1. It sounds mean, but I'm trying to be realistic. I think that any1 who fought for their life wasn't being cruel. It was a life-or-death situation with every man(or woman) for themselves. I probably wouldn't have survived either. Unless I was rich. It's sad that the rich ppl had a chance to live and the poor people didn't. I think the Titanic incident was a very, very sad one. :(

Mmm...

Hard to say.

I probably would have volunteered to work up in the crow`s nest for a few hours and would have made damn sure I saw that enormous iceberg well before it was too late and alerted one of the crewmen by ringing the bell like someone possessed!!!

Some people I swear...

You give `em one simple task to do and they can`t even do that without ruining it for everybody!

I would probabluy have tried to save myself. It's times like that when your on your own. Now if I had a family, that may be different. If I was my current age ... and gender lol (female) I may have been able to get on a life boat, but I wouldn't want to leave my family or husband.

I would have been traveling in first class so I would probably have gotten on a lifeboat and survived.

well I'm sure I would have been one of the poor guys in 4th class so I would have drowned and never even had a chance at a life boat.
