Stand by for a ga-zillion 'answers' from religious fundamentalist bimbos.
In actuality, no one knows the answer. Plenty of ideas, but that's as far as it goes.

According to the Big Bang, the universe emerged from an extremely dense and hot state (bottom). Since then, space itself has expanded with the passage of time, carrying the galaxies with it.In physical cosmology, the Big Bang is the scientific theory that the universe emerged from a tremendously dense and hot state about 13.7 billion years ago. The theory is based on the observations indicating the expansion of space (in accord with the Robertson-Walker model of general relativity) as indicated by the Hubble redshift of distant galaxies taken together with the cosmological principle.
Extrapolated into the past, these observations show that the universe has expanded from a state in which all the matter and energy in the universe was at an immense temperature and density. Physicists do not widely agree on what happened before this, although general relativity predicts a gravitational singularity
The term Big Bang is used both in a narrow sense to refer to a point in time when the observed expansion of the universe (Hubble's law) began — calculated to be 13.7 billion (1.37 à 1010) years ago (±2%) — and in a more general sense to refer to the prevailing cosmological paradigm explaining the origin and expansion of the universe, as well as the composition of primordial matter through nucleosynthesis as predicted by the Alpher-Bethe-Gamow theory.

Well thats quite a difficult question and no one is really sure. In a realigon stand point yes god created it. But by science the big bang theory which there was a egg nd it exploded billions of years ago. And made the universe as we no it. Accordinaly the cosmic egg's effects are still going meaning the universe is still expanding. Untill it reaches a point where it cant expand anymore and will start to unexpand. Cant think off the right word butt meaning the universe will collapse so ones the effects reach the end it will go backwords which would destroy the universe. But no need to worry scients dont expect that to happen for another trillion years.

In a Nutshell. Or in a Cosmic egg or in the Primordial Atom. Or some kid of creator force. That pastor Haugee revealed it to me once. When I was watching his church show. He explained how The Big Bang is explained in the Bible. When it says; " Let there be light ". It's so simple. But, so easily over looked if you don't take the time to think about it or listen to a sensei who's been around longer than you.
Every ancient culture has their own creation of the world or Universe story. I read that the ancient Hindu's thought that the world is supported by four Elephants standing on a giant tortoise standing on a giant snake floating on the endless river of time.
The Mayans have the Popol Vuh. Most modern people have The Bible and modern cosmology. Take your pick. But, the Marvel Uiverse was created by Stan Lee and Marvel Comics Corp.

Well, if you looking at it from a science point of view, then check out the "Big Bang" theory in more detail. There are no other major theories but you can google 'age of the universe' and that should answer your questions.

A theory that has gone out of favor (but I like it) is "The Steady State" theory. Yes, the universe is expanding, but the void is filled by new hydrogen atoms. Just enough to keep the universe the same.

well, currently all that is know is that the universe is drifting away from a central point that it seems to have started at.
One idea is that dimensions, or 'branes', Collided. Physicists dont go beyond the big bang because it admittedly makes no logical sense for there to be nothing, then all of a sudden 'something'.

Different theories could come from metaphysics, which means 'beyond physics'. For example, one could view life, experience and the universe itself as existing only in consciousness, and the physical world itself as only existing because it is sensed by consciousness.
From this point of view perhaps all things were created when awareness separated (by believing it is separate) from the 'all and nothing' of forever. Thus illusion and life were created from the belief and experience of 'self and other'.

Grab a Bible and read the first few verses. God created the universe and all in it, in only 6 days. He rested on the 7th!
