People told me that instead of buying iTunes from the iTunes store that I could download music from LimeWire for free and transfer it onto my iTunes. Does this work and is it legal?

It is illegal...shhhhh. But Ares is better, less viruses and such. Just make sure once you download you aren't 'sharing' it.

in case you maximized Itunes, and restoration limewire, so it particularly is smaller then itunes, carry limewire on good of itunes. then you certainly lick and drag your songs from limewire into 'music' in itunes. some Itunes libraries will promptly have your limewire library in itunes, sectioned off like a good sized playlist. stable success.

Lime Wire is good for downloading music yes...if its legal...I think so because your downloading from a person not taking anything from the artist. My friends use lime wire for their i pod. I don't have one....They download songs and transfer them to itunes all the time especially if I want to hear a certain song lol

I actually use it for my iPod, and according to the LimeWire site it's legal. (Although some artists are mad because they don't get comp for their work.) It's works fine, but sometimes there is a limited selection (because there are several of the same song, but sometimes they don't have your download speed). But overall it works fine.

It works, but it's probably not legal. But everyone does it, and it doesn't really matter. If people want to share their mp3's online, then what business is it of the record companies?
