I need to copy some of my children's VHS movies onto DVD so that they can watch them in the car. I understand that the picture and sound would be better if I just bought DVDs, but my kids have a WHOLE BUNCH of movies on VHS and it is just not feasible to buy them all on DVD at this time. How can I get around the copyright thing and record them onto DVDs using my DVD-R?
Thank you in advance for any help!

Connect your dvr to a vhs to record to dvd. Depends on your dvr there maybe a way to "get around the copy right" thing. Go here http://www.videohelp.com and check out the hack section and you'll likely find the answer you need.

Easy, Buy an image stabilizer for 20 to 50 dollars at some electronics shop, then put the video out from vcr into it and the video out of stabilizer into the dvd burner, done . Run the vcr like you are watching it and at the end you will have it on dvd.

I know a way but it's a little bit long. here it is:

1. Buy "SanDisk V-mate" and use it to convert VHS to MPEG. Look it up to know further details about it.
2. Get the result to your computer.
3. Use your DVD drive to burn it on a DVD.
4. Enjoy the DVD in your car.

Hope this helped...

Uh...I don't think you can...It would be best just to sell your VHS tapes and buy the DVDs. It will be better in the long run anyway. They don't take up as much space, and DVD players are being used more and more often.

Oh please...Excuses Excuses...You don't have to buy them ALL at once. You didn't buy the VHSs all at once now did you?

Besides, if you really wanted to do it, you should just be able to hook a vcr up to the DVD-R and press record. If it blocks it out, too bad.
