i need to write a paper on a current event (one that has happened in the last month). do you have any ideas?

I assume your writing a college paper so you have to pick a lib subject like global warming. If your allowed to write something conservative. I would really harp on why the news media is druuling all over Obama like its the second coming if this guys makes President. Just my thoughts.

I would recommend you feel the teacher/professor out for what type of subjects he/she likes...and be careful. If your teacher is a liberal, don't pick a story that supports or even portrays a conservative in a positive way...if they're a Democrat, don't write about a Republican in a position that you are showing positive.
One thing I learned in school and even more so in college, don't get on the wrong side of a teacher...even if you're right. I'm not saying you have to kiss their behind, I'm saying be careful in what you pick to write about. Let me give you an example:
In 1967 I wrote a paper on the value of having automobiles run on hydrogen fuel...pretty detailed for the amount of information available at the time, if I do say so myself. The class prof gave me a D...turned out he was a big stock holder of, I think, Standard Oil or it might have been Amoco (American Oil Company)...anyway, he felt that gasoline was the best fuel and would continue to be, for our country to run on. He was not interested in the environment and didn't feel it was an issue and that my position on it was wrong.
