i don't know exactly what the c230 is but by you info it is probably a sedan which i would prefer, pluse S2000 or not it is still a Honda which does not compare to Mercedes and won't hold the value when you are ready to sell

While both cars are very nice, id reccomend the Honda S2000. The Honda will be cheaper to fix, cheaper to insure, and overall cost of ownership is much less than that of Mercedes Benz. (and Mercedes is now owned by Diamler Chrysler) so would you prefer a pacifica or an R class. same car much different sticker price. I work at a Honda Dealer that also owns a Mercedes Dealership. The S2000 is comprable to the Porsche Caymen, BMW Z4, and other High Price "Luxary Sports Cars". So at 34,845.00 I'd personally rather have the S2000 and pay 30 an oil change as opposed to 300. If you do go for the Benz I reccomend the E350 4MATIC. Let me also add that Honda has the best Residual Value (resale value) in North America. (Study done by Intellichoice www.intellichoice.com )

Neither - in your case it sounds like you'd prefer a car that's both sporty and comfotable. The S2000 and C230 are on opposite ends of the driving spectrum - you may be better off with a choice in the middle.

The S2000 is one of the purist driving vehicles you can buy - light weight, RWD, great transmission, great grip, decent power, very good brakes. It's extremely responsive, handles great, gives you tons of feedback with the plus of being a convertible. On the downsides, it's very loud, very stiff, very tight inside with very limited storage space.

The C230 is a typical Mercedes, albeit with a more downscale interior. It's quiet, has a pretty compliant suspension, a bit overweight, and relatively luxurious. This combines for a comfortable, quiet ride with competent but not excellent handling. It's a little underpowered for its weight, but as a people hauler, it's adequate. As a driver's car with its long shifter, syrupy responses, and average power, its not something to get you excited.

A car in the middle like an Mazda RX-8 or used Infinity G35 sound more adequate for your purposes - you get a much better handling car than the C230 while still retaining 4 seats and a reasonably comfortable ride. A lightly used BMW 325i would also be a good bet.

The only reason to get the C230 is if you want a Mercedes.

Buying an expensive sports car at 18 years old is a foolish financial plan. The insurance alone would be so high you couldn't afford to drive the car. Financing a $40K vehicle will cost you $500 - $600 a month even with your $15K down payment. Add $250 a month for insurance and you've got a car note close to $700 - $800 a month before you've even put gas in the car and eaten a single meal. Unless you are making at least $2500 a month take home and have been for 2 years no bank is going to give you a loan. Why don't you do something positive in your life and go to college. Spend you money on your future not your now.

Dude if you love driving then you can never go wrong with the S2K. It's like a motorbike on four wheels and perhaps the best car in the world for what its worth.

The C230 as most European cars is overpriced and sluggish though the sedan may be more practical in the long run as opposed to the roadster.

Have fun shopping :)

If I were single, I would get the S2000. The repair bills are far less and the aftermarket parts to "individualize" my S2000 far excede those of the C230. The S2000 is a blast to drive.

Go with the Honda - unless you like spending time without a car because it's in the shop. I just got the new 2007 Consumer Reports Auto Buying guide and Mercedes was consistently a poor performer (across all models).

Honda was rated as one of the highest performers (Again across all models).

The S2K is a slick roadster...but depending on your local, you may or may not get the full usage out of it.

I would take the S2K all day, any day over the C230 Dollar for dollar, you'll have more fun and better stares your way in a S2K.
