Do you think due to hip hop uncontrol care over language, there is a degradation of American english. Lots of casual words are getting diffused into American English making the language less charm and less appealing unlike british english which is sweet.

Maybe, but you still cannot get a nice paying job unless you speak the language well. People who speak gutter English will be working at places like McDonalds for minimum wage.

It's even getting degraded in England . The queen's English has become less formal over the years of her reign.
In any case all those casual word in American English change over the years and proper grammar and diction will always be the most accepted. I believe the problem lies more in the loss of politeness, basic manners, and consideration for others.

No... I don't think hip hip is responsible for a change in the english language. If anything has changed the language in America it is through the internet, texting, IMing and other forms of exchanging information.

The Queen's english has also be bastardized over time, anyone that refers to a cigarette as a "fag" can pretty much tell you that. Neither country speaks "proper" english, and we each have slang.

Yes, I would definitely so say because I'm a british citizen living over here in a predominately african american/hispanic neighbourhood and the amount of misprounication and abuse of language is almost intolerable.

It's up to each individual to be responsible for their education. HIP HOP should be only used as entertainment, but unfortunately we live in a society and generation of single parent families with no one to raise them but the MTV/BET music channel.

No, yet you seem... that's "their" , no longer "there". Tut tut, it is your language, get it acceptable. how many people on right here, English and American, are no longer able to tell apart user-friendly words of their very very own language? words like: there, their and that they are dose and does unfastened and lose then and than have been, placed on and the place climate and whether defiantly and positively your and you're.... the record is going on. who's degrading the English language???... English audio equipment.

Definitely going downhill...a large part of that though is the kids either not being taught English in school or not learning it. Just look at the examples of grammar, spelling, etc here online. It's atrocious.

People are not taught the value of communication anymore and how to do it properly and effectively. I use a lot of slang but I know when and how to make myself understood, and I don't have to resort to slang, cursing, or vulgarities to do it.
