You're going to get your head ripped off.

But the answer to your question is yes.

Um. NO. That is not true. I never ONCE compromised the quality of the men I dated when I was single. I'm fat. I've been fat, and am fat. I dated good quality men, decent men, educated men, handsome men. I NEVER lacked for a date. My husband LOVES my cushion, my curves, and my mind. I am a complete package.

The men who marry/date SOLELY for looks, are then the ones that are truly unhappy when she puts on a few pounds. These are the vain and shallow men. They never looked any deeper than the skin. These men are NOT quality men and NOT the type of men one would want for a lifetime spouse.

If the consequence of putting on weight is loosing a husband who never really loved me (all of me) then that is a consequence I'm willing to live with. I'd rather be alone than with a shallow A**hole.

Not true at all.. Though you also have to consider a lot of men tend to gain weight also once in the comfort of a relationship. Both couples tend to get comfortable around each other or settle into a more home type lifestyle and are not as active, or a child could be born, there are many factor as to why there could be weight gain on BOTH parties. Both parties should be supportive in the weight loss help.

Ouch!!! That hurts....
I am thin, too thin, I try to gain weight but it just isn't in my make up, I am sure that it is the same when women try to lose weight, it isn't all about what you put in your mouth or how hard you try, sometimes it just is what it is..
To me, and I mean this, the heart and soul measure the true wieght of a person. If my husband weighed 600 lbs, my love and devotion to him wouldn't change one bit....things might be a bit challenging in the bedroom, but he would still be him.
I don't think true love sees weight as issue, unless it is a health issue.
I am sure these women yo refer to do still care, it's just maybe they feel like they can relax alittle and have more than a piece of lettuce for dinner...
I know alot of mature men who like a little junk in the trunk and women who are on the larger side of things, they usually have better personalities too than weight obsessed wafes, really.
Try looking from the inside out...the inside stays the same, the rest can change...good luck....

Why do overweight 'people' have to compromise on quality of person they seek? And don't fool yourself into thinking it only women who let themselves go. My husband used to play 3-4 different sports a week when we were dating. Now, he 'channel surfs' for sport. I've lost the baby fat f/ our last child, he however has not, & it changes none of my attraction to him, b/c I love him for his 'qualities' not his looks. The only time I get dolled up anymore is when I go out, so I guess if my man wants me to look good for him, he should take me out more!!

Wives/GF's "get fat" for a variety of reasons like gaining baby weight or just because they are happy comfortable and feel secure. Unless you are willing to remain as physically perfect as you expect your partner to be, you really can't say anything. You shouldn't scratch yourself in public, or have 5 o'clock shadows, scuffed shoes, look at other women, spend money without talking about it with wifey first, gain any unapproved weight, or do anything else annoying like watching sports all weekend long without helping around the house, etc. etc.

To a certain degree, I believe that once people become comfortable in a relationship, they tend to not worry as much about their appearance.

But this works both ways... My bf has put on about 60lbs since we got together, but he has always struggled with his weight. It really does not matter to me either way.

I think that a lot of times, there is a double standard with weight, where it is ok for a guy, but a big issue for a girl. An indication of our society perhaps?

It is unfortunate that as women age they tend and get in a marriage or a significant relationship they often become lackadazical to their appearance. Wearing flannel PJs instead of sexy thing is the first sign.

I personally would like my wife to be as much of a tiger in bed as she was when we first started dating, but two children and 18 years has slowed things down a lot.

I could careless what others thought when I was fat and I was at 175 I'm 5'6" I lost weight now I'm even less than when I graduated at 135 ten pounds less. I lost weight because I hated the way I looked.
It wasn't me.
The way I felt was my consequence so I did something about it.
My hubby could have cared less, now he had to admit he likes me better now; meaning my body better, and I exercise to keep in shape. Our bodies are our temples.

Some women may be like that, they'll let things loose, once they are in a committed relationship.
It shouldn't be that way though, in fact it should probably be closer to the opposite. You have yourself someone who loves you and finds you attractive. You should upkeep your appearance, keep in shape, for him.
But men, should have a little flexibility there, as sometimes we can gain a small amount of weight. Plus, women aren't the only ones who tend to gain weight after getting committed.

Hmm..not sure that they don't care once their in a relationship, however they are more secure. WE tend to become lazy in relationships as we become more familiar with one another and that's not just in letting yourself go physically but mentally and emotionally too. We stop being so considerate, so feeling etc. not that we don't care, but for some reason we begin to become somewhat numb to one another's feelings. WEll, that's my experience anyway.
