I am no longer attending a university but I am attending a community college to finish my nursing degree. I wanted to know how can I go about becoming an AKA if the school im at does not have that. Im almost finished with school and I didnt want to have to change schools again when im o close to finishing. Is there something my city chapter can arrange with me?

According to the website for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., you have to be a full-time student at a university where there is a campus chapter or be in a community where there is a city-wide chapter. As far as I understand, you have to be attending a four-year college/university to be eligible for membership at the undergraduate level.

If you decide to transfer schools and continue on to complete your bachelors degree, you have to be a student at the university for at least one successful grading period with a GPA of 2.5 before you will be eligible for membership.

After you complete your bachelors you can look into membership at the graduate level as long as you've graduated from an accredited senior college/university.

Of course there are other requirements that must also be considered such as ethical and moral standards, community service, etc.

Here's where I found the information.

Sororities/Frats only go towards the university/school you're in. You can't join a sorority/frat of a school unless you GO to that school, so unless your current school has AKA you can't rush to become part of it.
