It's not the gifts that count. It is having your family and friends and those who love you around. The presents are just a bonus!

My birthday is on Dec 25th. I've had 36 of them so far. I never really felt cheated though. My family even forgot a few times. The joy of the season and everyone being around... I felt really lucky to be honest. How many people get to visit with far away relatives that come around once in a blue moon on their birthday. Being around everyone was the most important thing to me.

As far as gifts well...

When I was younger, even though we didn't always have a lot of money, my parents would somehow make it up by giving me one big gift that would be far more extravagant than a normal birthday gift. And they would make a point of it to keep my birthday gifts and christmas gifts separate.

Even when they forgot (heck, I even forgot one year) they would make it right somehow.

Hope this helps someone out there feeling a bit blue with a christmas birthday. Don't look at it as a disadvantage, look at it in the positive and you'll be much happier.

And if you think about it, this is the one time of the year where everyone is in a good mood, or at least fakes it their hardest, so take advantage!

All in all I'd say it one of the best times of year to be born.

My birthday is right on Christmas day, born 1225hrs.
Right on Christmas dinner time.
Don't think my brother ever forgave me for wrecking his Christmas.
As I was 3 weeks early my Dad's theory is I just wanted to arrive in time to get presents.
As a child I really hated it. All my friend were away on holidays or having family celebrations. So I found it hard not having a Birthday party like all my friends.
Mum came up with the idea of having my Birthday party on the last day of school and that was great, for me and all the kids at my school.
My 21st was pretty strange I had three! One on the date everyone had got used to ,one on Christmas eve and one on Christmas Day.
I didn't like it too much, getting presents from Reli's and some Friends that were for my Birthday and Christmas.
But have got used to it now.I still hate getting a birthday card with Happy Birthday and a Merry Christmas written inside.
I know that people don't think it makes much difference, but it does to me, anyway.
I often used to wonder what it must be like to have a birthday in June or July! Now I'm over birthday's completely so it doesn't matter.
Well ,not so much!

My niece's birthday is on the 24th...bad enough getting kids that age anything as it is...(she's not a kid mind you she's 20ish) so I just get her a huge basket for about $60...when my husband buys her stuff he will spend a lot more...closer to $100 so I think she ends up with more rather than less...frankly, it sucks just because you don't really get to celebrate your birthday AND Christmas separately...otherwise I would say you probably have more people around you than you would if your birthday was any other time. Plus you can still go out with friends on another day and celebrate then too.

My birthday is Dec. 20th. I LOVE it. As a kid my Mom always made sure I had a party and presents and friends and a cake, just as if it had been in June...but the extra kewl part was that I got presents/toys on my birthday...and 5 days later I got more! *grins*

As an adult my friends and family have always kept them separate...this year some friends and I spent the weekend prior to my b'day at a cabin in TN and the last night we were there we celebrated my birthday together...then on Wed (my actual b'day) more friends got together and took me out to dinner and gave me gifts...

For some it may be a drag, but I dig having a b'day this time of year...everyone is in a festive mood...there are lights and decorations everywhere...lots of goodies to eat and parties to attend...I can't imagine having it any other time of year... :)

I dont even like getting gifts anymore. But if I was still a kid, I might have felt cheated for awhile. But maybe it would have let me know earlier that I wasnt the only important thing in the world.

My son was born on New Years eve, my aunt on July 4th & my mother in law on Halloween. Always had seperate celebrations but on the same day. For Christmas, I'd celebrate the b-day later in the evening.

My wifes brithday is three days after the holiday, she's told me that before we got married, her "brithday" present would be under the tree with the rest of the presents. After a while of getting brithday/christmas presents she said she started to feel cheated.
