i.e. abandon Israel and surrender in Iraq.

How many people should we let die in the name of isolationism?

I think the Iraq situation is a total loss. Not that I don't believe the Iraqi's don't want a democracy - that was pretty clear when millions defied the insurgents/terrorists to vote. But I think that no matter what we do, we'll be damned - and not just internationally. I think there are a lot of Americans who are salivating at the thought of losing in Iraq, unfortunately. Those would be the same jerks who felt the 3000 people who died in the Towers "deserved" it somehow.

The Iranian people are starting to demonstrate against the psychopath that runs the country and in this past election, they made their views pretty clear. If we pull out of Iraq, what ramifications would that have on the Iranian situation? Would that embolden further their radical leadership? What would that say to the Iranian people, who obviously want a better form of government?

It's not an easy situation, and no sane person ever wants to hear about people dying, but to pull out now - good God.

If we abandon Israel, the entire country will be wiped off the map. The Islamic extremists have been extremely clear about their goals in that regard.

If we abandon Iraq - again - that would be a disaster like we've never seen. I really feel that our premature withdrawal from Somalia has a lot to do with what we're facing in Iraq - Muslim extremists realize they don't have to defeat us militarily - they just have to win the media war - and they ARE.

Allies are only good if they work in our nation's interests. Anyone who disagrees needs a lesson in international relations. (look up "Realism International Relations Theory")

We should keep supporting Israel and we should've left Iraq as soon as Saddam's regime was toppled.
