I am trying to burn my dad a cd and I want to get him a few songs that he may not have heard in a while. He likes all kinds of music. Right now the cd consists mostly of America's 'A Horse With No Name' Please Help!!

I need names of groups and song titles. He has CD's from Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Doors, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stones, ect. I'm looking for something along the lines of America, some groups that aren't popular anymore but have some big hits since 1966

OK-
Add some EAGLES - "life in the fast lane", "Hotel California" are 2 good ones among many from the Late 70's that he would know well.

LED ZEPPELIN - if he was born in 66 he digs em. Go unconventional - like "Gallows Pole" or "Kashmir" but you can't go wrong with "Stairway to heaven"

THE WHO - "Won't get fooled again", "Baba O'reilly" (teenage wasteland), and "any of the CSI theme songs would work.

ROLLING STONES
"Start me Up", "Miss You", "undercover of the Night" and "Brown Sugar" are all from this time period.

Brice Springsteen's "Born To Run","Thunder Road" or "Badlands" all rock from late 70's

Don McLean's "American Pie"
Jackson Brown's "Running on Empty"

Billy Joel's "Only the Good Die Young", and "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant"

To Tug The Heartstrings-
Jim Croce -"Time in a Bottle"
Harry Chapin's "Cats in the Cradle"

Others....
Tom Petty "Breakdown" The Waiting" are from 70's , "Free falling" is more recent

Queen - "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Fat Bottom Girls', 'Under Pressure" (w/david Bowie)

The Police "Roxanne", 'Message in a Bottle"

Hi Ashli, would need more details - at least in regards to what you do know he likes. I'm from '67 and all over the board, but I
started once replying to your question - and I'm thinking there probably are some genres I could at least leave out......

Email me if you'ld like. We can discuss this further....

Have a good holiday,

-Robert

He probably digs Zeppelin, i cant see how he wouldnt. Buy him an album, Led Zeppelin II, III, Physical Graffiti... A lot of good songs so you cant go wrong no matter which one you get.

and in reference to the person above, the song is 'Kashmir'

Well, I'm sure different men from the sixties have different tastes in sixties music: why don't you ask him? If he doesn't know that you're making a cd for him, it doesn't hurt anything. Tell him that you're just interested in knowing!

Try 80's music. It would cover his teen years up to his mid-twenties.
