if your doctor says its okay, then DON'T worry about it and just do as you normally would. some kids are just smaller. just like some adults are just smaller. I have no idea how much she weighs. ask my wife.

If you are still breastfeeding and I hope for your childs sake you are, then they have mild weight swings. It mostly comes down to they don't want to get to far from the boob, but once they figure out you are not going anywhere, for real, they tend to eat better. As long as you have an active, healthy child, then don't worry to much. Don't over due it thinking your being a bad Mom! Once they get comfortable with the new foods they put weight on fast! I was paranoid that our daughter was underweight when we went to the doctor because she was so small compared to all the kids at school (width, not height). Our doctor told me that I was comparing my child to the fat kids who ate foods their bodies weren't ready for. I am glad to have found this out because my daughter doesn't eat anything but pasta, veggies, occassionally some liverwurst, and fruit. In fact after Halloween, we allowed her only one piece of candy a day afterwards, while all her friends finished theirs in a week, we threw out half the bowl the other day, because it was starting to get nasty. Remember, moderation is the key! Good luck and keep my e-mail should you ever have any questions my Wife and i can answer!

That's about how much mine weighed then. She is 18 months now and just over 20 pounds. She's in the 8th percentile in weight. And the kid eats like a hog! Don't over-react, or you're going to teach some poor eating habbits (cleaning plate, empty calories, food obsession, etc.) Is she eating yogurt or cottage cheese yet? Those both come in whole-milk variety, and my daughter loved them. Are you and her dad petite? My husband is 5'8" and 160 lbs, and I'm 5'2" and (secret!) lbs, so genetically, our daughter is just bound to be small! Yours probably is, too. As long as she is steadily growing and developing, I think she will be just fine. And her clothes will last way longer! Good luck!

My baby is eight months old and this is what she weighs. Your baby is fine just as long as she is eating some healthy foods. Three meals per day (I jar of baby food each meal) and you can offer small snacks but remember that her stomach is small still. So give, one finger food wagon wheel (from Gerber), for example. I was petite at this age and I turned out fine.

my four month old weighs abt 15 lbs. But please remember all babies are different. If the doctor is not concerned, and all in all the baby seems ok then I wouldn't worry about it. Don't try to over feed her though b/c then you could have an even bigger problem. Babies generally know when they're hungry or not.

My 8 month old weighs about 16 lbs. It really is no cause for concern. I have 3 children and they were all pettite. My pediatrician tells me that because my husband and I are also pettite. If shes gaining along "the curve" then dont worry.

My daughter weighed 14 lbs. at 2 months old! But she is really big. Off the charts big. Everyone says I must be overfeeding her but she is only breastfed and I just chalk it up to people being uneducated. I'm sure your daughter is fine. Everyone is built differently and if the Doctor isn't concerned you should be either. Best wishes.

My son at 9 mo. weighed 17 lbs. He was perfectly healthy. I didn't worry about trying to get high calorie foods into him, I just kept it healthy. Prepare yourself, as she gets more active (crawling and walking), she'll burn more calories and the weight won't go up too much. Your doctor will tell you when to worry. enjoy the holidays with your baby - what fun!

You don't want to know.

Remember it is height vs weight, not just weight. And personally I believe giving kids high calorie foods just sets them up for eating problems later on. In addition my baby (just turned 9 months) still doesn't eat much in the way of solids. Some days he eats none, this is, in fact perfectly normal. Human babies are not meant to be completely weaned at one year.

BTW Meat is a good first food, you may want to try her on some lean meats to get extra iron and zinc (zinc is very important to growth)
