Click on the Start button and then Run... Type in the space COMMAND and a DOS prompt will come up. When DOS comes up type "ipconfig /all" and hit enter. This will show your IP address and other things as well.

If you're using windows, you can go to Start, then Select 'Run'.
In the box that comes up, type (without quotes) 'CMD'
The black and white DOS prompt will come up. There should be a blinking cursor. Type (again, without quotes) 'ipconfig'
A few numbers should come up. The one you're looking for should be labled 'IP Address' and should be four numbers separated by periods. (For example, it might be something like 120.34.56.78)
You can safely ignore the rest of the information on the screen.

You can either log into your modem (follow your modem's instruction manual) or you can go to the Command Prompt and enter:
ipconfig
You'll see your IP address there.
Good luck!

Open a command line window:
Start->run
In the resulting dialog box type "cmd" and click "OK"
this should give you a nice little window with a command prompt.
Type in "ipconfig" and hit return. It will tell you everything you need to know.
