I would start by replacing the plug wires, it is possible that there may be carbon tracking from a (or all) coil towers (where the plug wires connect to coil) this is hard to clean off the coil and moisture certainly aggravates the problem sometimes you can clean it off with some fine emery cloth but I never had much luck with that, usually just replaced the coil pack, little more expensive but you won't have to worry about it again for long time. As this car has Distributor-less ignition don't look for a cap problem. A test you could do is at night spray a light mist of water over the cool engine and start it...if the wires are bad you WILL see it. Good Luck!

I would definitely check for water in the distributor cap like another poster replied, But one thing that I didn't see anyone mention is water in your breather tube. Caviler's air filter box mounts near the fender well and moisture can easily enter in and get sucked into the intake, causing the problem you described. Easy way to check: Next time it rains and the car won't start, pull the air filter out and see if it's damp or wet. If it is then I would look into trying to seal off the air box as good as you can. Also, you can leave the air filter out and when this happens so your car will run, and then put it back in when it dries out!
Hope this helps!

Try the ignition switch......on those cavaliers, when the ignition switch starts going out......the humidity will cause it to not make contact when it rains. Not too long after that it will go out completely. I've had to do this on 6 or so Cavaliers

Check the sparkplug wires, cap, rotor, or coil pack. Moisture is getting in somewhere.
