Why, or how, does the song resonate for you?

Perhaps something in the lyrics, the melody, perhaps a special shared memory, some poignant or evocative feeling... what is it about the song that moves you?

Christmas Won't Be The Same Without You

It’s the time of year
When good friends are near
Tryin’ hard to find a quiet moment
Sharing love and joy
Children with their toys
Sadness fills my heart to see you go

Christmas won’t be the same without you
Christmas won’t be the same if you go
All I need to see standing by my Christmas tree
Christmas won’t be the same without you

I remember when
The times we used to spend
Walking hand in hand until the sun sets
Then came Christmas Eve
The wish you gave to me
How I wish I tried to make you stay

It’s been a long long time
I need you by my side
Hold me tight
Don’t let go..

Fairytale of New York! The last verse about how she gave her dreams to him " I put them with me own, cant make it on me own, I built my Dreams around you"

It is the single most romantic thing I have ever heard, and even though he has no teeth and is a raddled old alky, every time I hear it I fall a little in love with him!

“Happy Christmas your ****, I pray God it’s our last.”
It is one of the most racous and yet moving anti-christmas songs ever. For me it evokes alot of the reality of this time of year without trying to pull it's punches. It will always remind of a relationship found and lost - that was always 'just around that corner.
