Okay so thanks to the help of the Yahoo community I figured out how to get through the door in the room. But only in the British version of the websight, for some reason the wind chime doesn't turn into the key in the US version.
But here is my next question....how do you compile the scrapbook?

The scrapbook is a book that is used to show the prizes you receive when you uncover hidden things on the site. These things, called 'easter eggs' are little games or activities. As you complete more of these games you get more prizes and therefore fill up your scrapbook.
I'll guide you through one to show you how to complete the others.
On the main page of the site, click on the black hair brush on the right entitled 'Extra Stuff'.
On the left hand side of the blue pen there is an eraser, click and drag it directly up to the blank white piece of paper pinned to the board with a red pin and 'wipe' the eraser on the paper to reveal a potion recipe.
The items should be a feather, a vial, a spider and some leaves.
The aim is to go around the site and find these items.
From what I can remember, the feather and the leaves are in the 'Extra Stuff' (hair brush) room, the spider appears on the main page after a bit of waiting and the vial is in the 'Links' (pair of glasses) room.
When you find the items and click on them all, you should be presented with an award, something like an early draft of HP and the Chamber of Secrets by JK Rowling or a picture she drew.
The rest of the 'easter eggs' are hidden like this around the site but are not exactly the same, some ask you to unravel a jumbled sentence or to just press random items.

Once you complete certain hidden challenges throughout the website a window will come up saying something to the effect that you can make an addition to your scrapbook. The things they put in it are sketches drawn by Jo and some pages of her notes. I think there is a hidden challenge on the fan site link on her site. Try that one but the challenges are all over the site. Just look for abnormalities and start clicking random objects and see if they move. Oh and look out for spiders and feathers.
