Sprinkle a trail of glitter from the chimney to the presents, take a bite from the mince pie and the carrot and drink the sherry that they left on the table the night before.
Then as the years go by explain to them gently that the magic of Christmas is the belief that people can do good for others.
Once they know that gifts are given with love Santa will be just for fun and the 'maybe/you never know' will come into play.

Get some wellies on and from the door to the Xmas tree, sprinkle a very light coating of talcum powder over the boot for each step you take. In the morning it looks like Santas footsteps across the room.
AND, if you haven't got a chimney..Santa has a magic doorkey!!!

Other then the standard cookies and milk, have your kids write a letter to Santa. Then when they are asleep answer it in different handwriting then you own. Also wrap the gifts from Santa in paper only for the Santa gifts and only tags from Santa. Don't use the same paper or tags for any other gifts and point it out to them. Happy Holidays

Leave a mince pie and a glass of port/wine for Santa and a carrot for rudolph on Christmas Eve. When the kids are in bed asleep, leave some crumbs on the plate, a little wine/port left in the glass and the stub of the carrot for them to see on Cristmas morning, it never fails!! Merry Christmas.

My Mum and Dad used to put footprints over the carpet, from the fireplace towards the presents, and have an empty glass of sherry, and a mince pie with a bite taken out of it on the table.
We (my sisters and brother) all believed Santa had been!

My dad used to wait till we were asleep then place all the presents around the tree, spray some fake snow on them, eat the cookies... except one, drank the milk and ALWAYS left a thank you note from Santa. The note was written in gold ink thanking us for the cookies and milk..... It worked for YEARS!!! Never mind that we NEVER realised that Santa's hand writing was the same as Dad's or that...... in our part of the world it was the MIDDLE OF SUMMER (and it didn't even snow in winter).... LOL

Why would you want to lie to your children about santa? When you and I know there is no such think as santa. So you tell a "white lie" to your children how do you except them to believe you when they get older? (when they found out mom and dad lied about santa what else will they lie about) Get a clue
