How accurate is college board?

Question

I was looking at collegeboard.com and noticed they gave you an idea of what colleges look for in freshman applicants.Are they pretty accurate?

I graduated a while ago, but when I was in school they were pretty much on the mark. My guess is that they are giving fairly general advice, and that those ideas still apply for most schools.
