If you don't like your local school, and you can afford it.
Private schools have much smaller classes. The behaviour of the children is generally better, certainly in class, as they don't put up with the sort of things that go on in state schools. (They can expell a badly behaved child, which can be helpful).
I sent some of my children to state and 2 to private schools. My grandchild now goes to private, but we have 3 generations of family contributing to the fees........ because we know that when he's older he'll be capable of getting into any school of our choice (and thats worth paying for).

I would if the public schools in your area are not that good. I go to a private school and I think it is the best thing that has happened to me because I get the individual attention that I would not be getting in an overpopulated public school. Also the teachers are fabulous and the classes are usually more advanced which can better prepare your child for college.

Three of my children went to private boarding schools because we lived in Africa and there were no English speaking schools nearby. When we moved closer to civilisation they went to state schools and didn't do nearly as well because the classes were much bigger and the facilities were not so good. Given the choice I would pick a private school every time.

Yes. They are in public now, but if I ever had any problems, I would definetly send them to a private Christiian school in our area. It's quite pricey, but it would be worth the cost. I have considered it for next year for reasons I would rather not discuss. It's parent's own decisions where they send their children to school. Whatever is best for the child.

Depends - if I lived in a crappy area where the schools were terrible, then yes I would send my kids to private school. But, if I lived in a nice, wealthy area where the public schools were good, I'd send them to regular school.

A school is only as good as the parental involvement. If you are going to be involved in your child's education, they can get a very good education from any public school. My high school was on the verge of losing its accreditation. I am on my way to my master's degree and doing very well. My neighbor went to private, catholic schools through high school. He didn't graduate, and is now a homeless drug addict.

my parents sent me to a private school, this was because state schools in my area were bad and the teachers didnt care about the kids, onli the grades. if u want ur kids to get beter grades sent them to a grammer or a private school, where the aim is to get good marks, or is they need support if ur child has a dissability, state schools only aim to get the grades required. in england, a grade C is whats needed.

i do my exams this year and i plan to get between B and A*s now

I went to a private school for 4 years of high school. Had to wear a tie to school everyday. I think it helps when applying to college so thats a plus. The public schools around me are terrible, thats why I went to private.

Pretty broad question. I would or wouldn't depending on the child and our public school situation. In our own family, we have one child in private school and the other three are in public school. This may or may not change in the future depending on each child's circumstance.

It wasn't an option when my kids were of school age. I might, if I could afford it and if my kids wanted to go. I wouldn't separate them from friends if that is what a private school meant for them.
