I have been so curious, and I think I am the only one that wants to know if they really are real. Does anyone else think that they are, or have some hint that there are creatures of the night. That there is magic in the world beside your every day miricale?

Here is an intresting Mathmatical "proof" that vampires cannot exsist...
University of Central Florida physics professor Costas Efthimiou's work debunks pseudoscientific ideas, such as vampires and zombies, in an attempt to enhance public literacy. Not only does the public believe in such topics, but the percentages are at dangerously high level, Efthimiou told LiveScience.

Legend has it that vampires feed on human blood and once bitten a person turns into a vampire and starts feasting on the blood of others.

Efthimiou's debunking logic: On Jan 1, 1600, the human population was 536,870,911. If the first vampire came into existence that day and bit one person a month, there would have been two vampires by Feb. 1, 1600. A month later there would have been four, and so on. In just two-and-a-half years the original human population would all have become vampires with nobody left to feed on.

If mortality rates were taken into consideration, the population would disappear much faster. Even an unrealistically high reproduction rate couldn't counteract this effect.

"In the long run, humans cannot survive under these conditions, even if our population were doubling each month," Efthimiou said. "And doubling is clearly way beyond the human capacity of reproduction."

So whatever you think you see prowling it most certainly won't turn you into a vampire.

This is a situation in which ignorance is truly bliss. It is romantic to think that they could exist, but I don't know if I would want to run into one on a dark, lonely night .... unless I was a character in one of Nina Bangs' books (that would be hot!). I don't know about magic in the world either. Reality TV has taken that away. My magic lives in my imagination, where it's okay to believe in fairies and little boys who never grow up and that Hogwarts does exist. And this I can give to my children.

At first I did, but it's been so long since I have seen or heard of one that I am doubtful.

I mean, don't get me wrong, back when I was a young boy in 1680's France, there were suspicions of everyone. But in the years since I stayed the night in that castle, I have grown to wonder.

Wandering the Earth for 300+ years has made me a bit skeptical, I must admit...

Hello Dear =)

I am convinced that they do exist.....

I am not convinced that they are as malicious as fiction would have us believe.

Here is my experience:

Once, while backing out of a parking spot one evening in the 1980's, I had checked all 3 mirrors, as is my custom. I was backing very slowly, and heard a "thud". I put the car in park, and jumped out of the car.

Lying behind the back bumper was an old man, who got up, and dusted himself off. I had struck him in the knee. He refused my offer to get him medical assistance, or take him to the hospital.

When he spoke, it was in an eastern european accent, and he said:

"Don't worry, this happens to me all the time. I should be more careful. People just never see me. I'll be fine tomorrow"

I shook his hand, and it was Ice cold. I gathered up his packages for him, and he walked off, with barely a limp.

It is my opinion that this being did not show up in my mirrors, and that is why I struck him. Since I have been driving for some 25 years since, and have never struck another pedestrian, it is the only logical conclusion. What sort of beings don't show up in mirrors??

I have also met "people" in Manhattan, at certain concerts (particularly Nine-Inch-Nails) at clubs, who left me with the unshakable feeling that they were not entirely human.

There is also much "magic" in the world....

There are things I can attest to as a Buddhist practitioner that would shock you. One is not supposed to speak of these things, however.......

Namaste,

--Tom

The vampires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What you need to know about us??
Yes we are exists but we never tell. We are not from earth anyway so we look like aliens maybe some of our kinds.
Some of us just came by from space, we could not find by all radars.
We may not show in the mirrors only if we are very old.
Some called us ghosts, aliens, strangers, freaks, zombies, demons, devils, Genie, Satan and other names you call us.
Yeah some of us are much famous “rock stars “we should not be at all, we should not tell what we really are.

If it's true and vampires are real.
And
If it's true there were a LOT of vampires living in New Orleans.
Then
Wouldn't it be true that all these vampires have now spread across America to escape the tragic events of New Orleans?
And
Where would they go?
Your town?
YOUR town?
YOURS!
Hmmmmmmmmmm....
sounds like a good movie to me ;-)

No. It's like believing in Scientology: if you do, you're a retard. It's obviously made up.
