I had my first at 34 and was offered numerous tests. If the test could cause a miscarriage, I would pass. I let them test my blood and do as many ultrasounds as they wanted.

Regardless of age you will have blood taken for prenatal testing.
Women over 35 are given tests for Spinabifida and Downsyndrome, standard procedure. If you are under 35 yrs old you are able to ask to have this done (at possibly your own expensive depending on your health coverage as it would be considered not a routine test) or you may be given the option by your doctor to have them test for those defects (again, depending on your health coverage, if you are under 35 yrs old it may not be covered as it would be not be considered routine..it would be considered an "extra" because you wouldnt be at risk)

It depends on your doctor. Mine offered all sorts of testing, including an amnio if I wanted one. I am 30 and chose to do the ultrascreen and AFP testing. I think if you request a test, any good doctor will perform it for you or refer you to a lab, no matter what your age.

I am 24 and they did all the basics they could do with a simple blood test. I know they checked some dna disorders like Down's.

Such as genetic counseling? Or are you referring specifically to an amnio? Typically that stuff isn't suggested unless something looks "off" on an ultrasound or there's a known family history of problems.
